The problem
A person may pay for an identity bundle, VPN, password manager, data-removal service, antivirus product, monitoring service, and alias provider while still being uncertain about account recovery, public exposure, household access, or basic continuity.
More products do not automatically create a better plan
Adding another subscription does not resolve overlap, clarify priorities, or confirm that existing protections are active and correctly configured. A pile of subscriptions is not a plan.
Why checklists are not enough
Educational guides are valuable, but a broad checklist still leaves the reader to determine relevance, priority, overlap, cost, and sequence. Avernic is designed to transform personal context into decisions.
Why personal threat modeling matters
The same protection may be essential for one person, optional for another, and already well covered for someone else. A useful plan needs to consider what matters, how exposure could occur, what protections already exist, and which scenarios are realistic.
What Avernic is building
Avernic is building a consumer decision-support platform that reviews current products and practices, maps capabilities, identifies potential overlap and gaps, creates a Personal Threat Model, and generates a prioritized implementation plan.
The free Privacy Checkup is a live educational pilot for eligible U.S. adults. The Complete Privacy Assessment is in development and is not publicly purchasable.
Commitment to practical, free, and already-owned options
Recommendations should consider free settings, already-owned benefits, and lower-cost alternatives before suggesting another purchase. Avernic is not designed to recommend more products than a person genuinely needs.
Limitations
Avernic does not monitor accounts, access credentials, scan devices, perform data removals, investigate incidents, provide legal advice, or guarantee protection. Results depend on the accuracy and completeness of the information supplied.
Quality review during testing
Submitted free Checkups may receive limited internal QA. Any future founding-pilot paid report will be reviewed by an Avernic operator before delivery. Human review is quality control and is not professional advice or an ongoing advisory relationship.
Long-term objective
The long-term objective is simple: make personal privacy planning easier to understand, easier to act on, and less dependent on buying products without a clear reason.
